“Under our laws, if you are here on a non-immigrant visa, your spouse and your dependent children under the age of 21 are allowed to join you. The problem is the decades log backlog for Indian immigrants forces many of them to wait a lifetime. That means if they brought over a child right now at age 3, that child would grow up here in America as the only country they have ever known. But in 18 years, they would hit that age 21 – age out – and be forced to return to India unless they can obtain their own non-immigrant visa. I think any sensible immigration compromise we take up this fall or early next year must address the status of both the DACA dreamers and the Indian dreamers.”

My Story
Meharvan Singh’s Story
I am 12 years old. I came from India to the USA when I was 6 months old with my parents. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America everyday at my school. USA is my home and I consider myself to be an American. However, I am on H4 Visa and my whole family is waiting for Green Card since 7 years now….legally. Still, there is no solution in sight ! Unless my parents and I get Green Card, I will have to leave this country. I request you to help me, my family and thousands of other kids and their families.
